Favorite Yankee Stadium Memory

With today being the last day the Yankees play in Yankee Stadium, I want to take the time to share 2 of my all-time favorite memories at the stadium and want to open it up to you to share your own memories of Yankee Stadium! Thanks everyone.

Memory 1: Opening day 1999. My mom, grandpa, and friend Jim ditched school and went to Opening Day. We witnessed the raising of the 1998 World Series championship flag, and the Yankees eventually went on to win the rain-shortened home opener. The top memory of that game though, was a foul ball off the bat of Bernie Williams that literally hit my grandpa's umbrella. :-) What an awesome game.

Memory 2: Red Sox vs. Yankees, July 1, 2004. Ranked as one of the greatest regular season matches between the two heated rivals. Started as a game you wouldn't think of as going into the history books. Pedro Martinez v. Brad Halsey... to any non-Yankee fan, a no brainer. Red Sox win. Unfortunately, for them, the Yanks won in 13 innings, thanks to John Flaherty's game winning, ground rule double in the bottom of the 13th and the infamous Jeter catch where he flies into the stands. UNBELIEVABLE!
