Jeter Defends A-Rod

Jeter is doing exactly what the Yankees need their captain to do. This 'A-Rod Debacle' will not distract the Yankees whatsoever in their quest for a 27th world series title. Do you all agree? Let me know your thoughts.

One would hope that it doesn't effect their chances at getting to the series, but it really depends on how this plays out. I think it's still early.

Of course it effects their chances! A-rod has issues to begin with. The fans boo him, he almost never delivers in the clutch, and now with the "boli" confession, he is gonna hear "A-Roid" chants everywhere he goes, including The Stadium if he is not producing. It will be a monsterous distraction to the team as well as A-rod. Jeter did the correct PR move, but it doesn't mean he truly backs him outside of the public eye.

I don't think that A-Rod will be able to produce under the pressure of the fans' negative reaction to him. He never does well when there are adverse situations affecting him. He's rarely delivered in the clutch under good circumstances.
