I must've been stupid to believe that the drama surrounding Alex Rodriguez was dwindling down. I find it very ironic that 3 days after meeting with MLB officials to discuss his use of PED's, his relationship with his cousin, and his relationship with the banned-from-MLB-clubhouses trainer Angel Presinal, that he is injured with a cyst on his hip and could possibly be out for 4 months due to the need for surgery. For all I know this could be legitimate, but with the way things have been playing out, there are rumors surfacing that he might actually be suspended for his off-the-field meetings with Angel Presinal.
I used to have a lot of respect for A-Rod, but over the last few weeks, that respect has slowly begun to disappear. If he does play, I will still support him and cheer for him as I am a true fan and believe he can indeed play a very important role in the Yankees winning. He has a lot he needs to prove to the fans, and by being on the DL (if that is indeed the case), he will not be helping out the situation. I do hope he plays, and that the rumor of him being suspended is exactly what I said it is... only a rumor.

If you were REALLY a true Yankee fan, Mr. Capozzi, as you so desperately seem to be trying to be, you would no longer support this guy. He has lied for years, and now even his records are indeed tainted. Can he come back and smash around 30 homers this year and possibly drive in 80 RBI in a shortened season for him? Maybe. But again, how many of those will even be during clutch situations? A-Rod is about two things...1. A-Rod and 2. Money.
Cody (haha Cody...booooo) Ransom has a golden opportunity to bring the Yankees back to the team concept that won them 4 world series championships in the late 90's/2000. Those teams didn't need all the drama of superstars...just look at the 3rd baseman who turned out to be the MVP of the world series...Scott Brosius! And Brosius hit .203 the year before he joined the Yankees with the A's.
The A-Rodless Yankees of now may not be better off without the 40+ HR's and 100 RBI A-Rod may bring in a full season, but the TEAM concept is...and Girardi knows this...he was part of those Dynasty teams where a new "super star" would emerge from within the ranks each season, but would not be lured to the Yankees and bring with him, drama, disgust, and extra baggage.
So I say, some Yankee fan you are Mr.Capozzi. Shame on you. I expect to see more dignity coming from a team that just signed fictional pitcher Rick, the wild thing, Vaughn!
It sounds to me that you enjoy to yell out A-Rod's name in bed based on your title of this blog. That is the true Yankee fan showing. This guy has done nothing but lie to you. He is a cheater and the reason the Yankees havent won anything in the past few years. He should be looked at in the same way Bonds is. Plus he probably got hurt from the backside pounding he got from Jeter!
