Melky Cabrera is on a tear right now... he's hitting .327, with a slugging percentage of .571. Not bad for guy who didn't win a starting spot on the team out of spring training. He has come through in some clutch situations over the last couple weeks, but my question is, how long will the show last? Melky consistently shows the star power he is capable of having; however, it never lasts the entire year. Last year, Melky hit 8 homers by the end of May and that is the same number he ended the season with. Let's hope he's found his stroke for good, and he can contribute to the Yankees winning all season.
The guy is a tremendous outfielder... I'll give him that. Once the hitting comes, he'll be the complete package and perhaps remind us one day of the great Bernie Williams.
